Figma
The collaborative interface design standard
- No reviews yetCategory: Design & MediaUpdated May 2026
Figma is a browser-based interface design tool where whole teams design, prototype, and hand off in the same file in real time. It covers UI design, design systems and components, prototyping, and — via FigJam — whiteboarding, and has become the industry default for product design.
Highlights
- Real-time multiplayer design in the browser
- Strong components and design-system support
- Huge plugin and community-template ecosystem
- Prototyping and developer hand-off built in
Good for
Figma is the default for product and UI design, and its real-time collaboration is still the benchmark. The main reasons to look elsewhere are cost and openness: Penpot is the open-source, self-hostable alternative, and for publishing a site rather than designing screens, Framer is the better end of the pipeline. For most design teams, Figma remains the safe choice.
